Federal Government Updates

The coronavirus emergency aid package, Family First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes provisions for emergency paid leave and free coronavirus testing was signed into law. (March 18, 2020)

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced that it will waive potential HIPAA penalties for good faith use of telehealth during the nationwide public health emergency due to COVID-19. (March 17, 2020)

The Internal Revenue Service today advised that high-deductible health plans (HDHPs) can pay for 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)-related testing and treatment, without jeopardizing their status. (March 11, 2020)
