MEMBERS ON THE MOVE - Distinctions & Designations

Rosemarie Day, founder and CEO of Day Health Strategies, helped lead the launch of health reform in Massachusetts in 2006, which became the model for the Affordable Care Act. She has been working on health reform ever since and is passionate about universal healthcare and women's health issues. She is thrilled to announce the release of her new book, Marching Toward Coverage: How Women Can Lead the Fight for Universal Healthcare (Beacon Press, 2020).

Julie Doran Stewart of Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group was featured in DC Dimensions' "Women and Retirement."

EmpiRx Health’s president, Karthik Ganesh, has been featured in Managed Healthcare. The article sums up the strategic advantage of the EmpiRx Health model and the application of a practical population health management strategy to bend the pharmacy cost curve. Click here to read more.

Kathleen Greer, Founder of KGA, Inc. has been selected as one of the recipients of The Commonwealth Institute’s 2020 Extraordinary Women Advancing Healthcare Award! The award was created to recognize remarkable women in Massachusetts who are emerging and inspiring leaders pioneering advances across healthcare.  Kathy was selected for her achievements in demonstrating collaboration, mentorship and innovation.

Callie Hall and Nicola Henfrey of Northeastern University completed both NEEBC Basics classes (Health & Welfare Basics and Retirement Basics) in a 12-month period and were awarded a NEEBC Certificate of Completion. 

Hardin Matthews, Retired Partner, Ropes & Gray LLP, was recently honored by the American Bar Association with the Janet Spragens Pro Bono Award.  Hardin was nominated for his work with Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS), where he works with the low-income taxpayer clinic, in the Tax Court calendar call when the court visits Boston, and in support of GBLS’s administrative and legislative advocacy, as well as for his support of the tax clinic at Harvard.  Since he retired from firm practice, Hardin has spent over 3,700 hours of pro bono work for GBLS.

Rodger K. Metzger, CFA, President and Chief Investment Officer for Hooker & Holcombe's Investment Advisory Group, has been appointed to the Bay Path University Board of Trustees.

Becky Seefeldt, VP of Strategy, Benefit Resource, Inc., was appointed as a Board Member to ECFC (Employers Council on Flexible Compensation).

Hub International had two colleagues receive individual awards:

  • Mim Minichiello, Regional President for Employee Benefits, was awarded the Boston Business Journal's Power 50.  Mim was also awarded the Top 100 Women-led Businesses by the Commonwealth Institute.

  • Nadine Villafranca, Regional CFO at HUB NEE, was awarded CFO of the year by the Boston Business Journal.

Marsh & McLennan Agency had five colleagues receive individual awards:

  • Andrew Bayliss, Senior Vice President, New England was named as a recipient of Financial Times Top 401 Financial Advisers who specialize in serving defined contribution (DC) retirement plans across the U.S.

  • Sara Carvalho and Lisa Buffington were named as two of NAPA’s Top Women Advisors Rising Stars. “Rising Stars” category acknowledges those who may have been retirement plan advisors for five years or less, although many have been in “the business” longer. 

  • Doug Kublin and Andrew Ziergiebel were named as NAPA’s Top Retirement Advisors under the age of 40.  Doug received this award for the second consecutive year, while Andrew earned his third consecutive year on this highly sought after list.

Spring Consulting Group announced the following distinctions:

  • Karin Landry, Managing Partner, came in at number 28 of Captive Review’s Power 50, a captive insurance industry ranking.

  • Prabal Lakhanpal, Vice President, was named to Captive Review’s “Ones to Watch” list and was among Employee Benefit Adviser’s “Rising Star” award winners for 2020.

MEMBERS ON THE MOVE - New Hires

Bryan C. Adams joined AllWays Health Partners Sales Team in December 2019 as a Senior Account Executive.

Haley Adams joined Boston Consulting Group's Global Benefits team as Global Benefits Senior Specialist.  Haley is responsible for BCG's global insurance programs as well as supporting BCG’s global wellbeing initiative. 

 

Christopher Paquette was recently hired by Trustmark as the new Senior Vice President, Chief Digital & Strategy Officer.

 

 

 

Hooker & Holcombe is happy to announce Jason Kruzyk has joined the sales and marketing team as a senior sales representative, and Torraine Bell has joined as a member of the Pension Administration team within the Actuarial Services Group.

Spring Consulting Group recently welcomed two new team members: Melanie Brown, Account Manager, and Francoise Kymaka, Accounting Specialist

Keith Whitt has been named Labor & Business Relations Executive for Altus Dental.


MEMBERS ON THE MOVE - Promotions

Ryan Dolin was promoted to Global Benefits Senior Manager at Boston Consulting Group.  Ryan is responsible for providing benefits expertise and advisory services to over 25 of BCG’s international locations. 

Nathan Drapkin joined EmpiRx Health's senior leadership team as Head of Strategic Partnerships. 

Lisa Mast recently expanded her role at EmpiRx Health to include Sales Support, Marketing and Proposals as Vice President of Sales Operations. 

Hooker & Holcombe shared three promotions: Daniel McCarthy, ASA, MAAA and Jonathan Plumb, ASA, MAAA, have been promoted to actuarial specialists, and Rong Chen has been promoted to actuarial associate within the firm’s Actuarial Services Group.  

 

Verrill has elected four of its attorneys to partner, including Christopher Lockman, member of the New England Employee Benefits Council.
