"COBRA: BRING YOUR PROBLEMS TO THE PROS"

Robert C. Macaulay, Jr., Parker Brown & Macaulay
Brian J. Malynn, The Segal Company

Approved for 3 credits by the MA Division of Insurance

As many benefit managers know from painful first-hand experience, though enacted in 1986 COBRA has never been completely "defanged"; in fact, recent enactment of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) added new employer responsibilities. Following a review of COBRA principles, this workshop will focus on those "real life" COBRA situations where the law still remains unclear, but benefit administrators must nevertheless make practical decisions. Participants will have the opportunity to raise their own COBRA problems with both speakers and other participants. This program is intended for those with COBRA responsibilities, or who simply want to be more knowledgeable about the provisions of COBRA legislation.
