There is an imperative for teambuilding and process improvement given a recent reorganization of the benefits function.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
- Coordinates and maintains relationship with new and existing clients and the Hays Companies, assuring all routine service requirements are met as well as addressing all ad hoc questions or issues.
- Coordinates and manages the activities of marketing and renewals such as requests for proposals, analyzing and offering solutions in a consulting capacity to improve satisfaction, performance and value.
- Recommends or initiates actions to effectively and proactively service the client. Plans, directs, and coordinates benefit and insurance programs. Identifies, plans, and develops methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs.
- Regularly meets with clients to educate staff, review programs, make recommendations on improvements and nurture the relationship. Participates and conducts Employee Benefit Meetings.
- Works with client to develop client specific management and financial programs. Reviews financial and management reports monthly/quarterly as required.
- Reviews and remains abreast of current industry developments, legislative and regulatory changes and market updates to advise on their impact to clients.
- Manages benefit analyst and/or consultant as account load requires and assists in the development of expertise within the Account Team.
- Participate in market meetings, seminars and training programs as directed.
- Works on obtaining other sales opportunities with current clients as well as cross selling P&C lines of coverage.
- Manages financial profitability of account book. Oversees the development and maintenance of management reports as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
Completes special projects as assigned by management, which includes involvement in presentations, client functions and meetings as well as any other roles or responsibilities necessary for the continued growth and success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- An exceptional knowledge of employee benefits and of all lines of coverage. First-rate oral and written communication skills; the ability to independently make accurate decisions. Must be proficient in both the HR and the Financial Analysis aspects of the role.
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years in an insurance-related industry or any equivalent combination of education and experience, in an HR or Benefits Consulting/Broker capacity.
- Active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License.
- Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree or certification preferred.

Compensation

- Oversee the development, communication, and administration of Company benefits including Health and Welfare plans, retirement plans, Vacation and Holiday program, Adoption Assistance, Matching Contributions, Personal Computer Reimbursement, Tuition Reimbursement, Wellness Reimbursement, and various ad- hoc company benefits.
- Manage relationships with Retirement Plan Trustees, banks, insurance companies, and other related agencies.

EDUCATION/ PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- BS in HR or Business Management with 10-15 years progressive experience in compensation and benefits, including a minimum of 3 years managerial experience, in Benefits and Compensation; Special emphasis on compensation experience. MBA or MS highly desired, as is strong financial acumen.
- Pharmaceutical/ Biotech experience a plus, R&D or Sales and Marketing experience also desired.
